Remember when buying a bird
It’s about more than getting the best price.
It’s
about buying from someone who has a genuine interest for the welfare of
their birds. This is evident in the way the birds are raised and cared
for.
Helpful Hints:
Always have cuttlefish bone for your birds to chew on. It’s good for their beaks and provides calcium.
Always
have shell grit for your birds because like all birds finches don’t
have teeth. Instead they have gizzards (the muscular organ that grinds
the bird’s food)
Always have fresh greens for your birds as most caged birds suffer malnutrition from unbalanced diets.
Many finches develop obesity from being fed only seed.
Make sure the food and water dishes have semi covered lids so birds don’t poop in them and become sick.
